Nothing really...I started an xkcd group (http://ubuntuforums.org/group.php?groupid=91) to see how many forum members read xkcd (http://www.xkcd.com) So far it has 71 members.

The group could be useful if were wanting to start a LUG or just a get-together on release days.

Australia would be too big an area for a LUG, and my closest lug is in Alice springs, (no way I am going THAT far, but maybe an online LUG would work.

EDIT I took another look, and I DO have a LUG, in my city, w00t!

If you're asking generally if people live in Hobart then yes, I'm pretty sure they do. If you're asking specifically if people on these boards live in Hobart, well, people here appear to have both written and computer literacy so it doesn't look likely. :p

I make fun of Victoria. (no offense to Victorians, but we are better at football than you.)

Wow. I had no idea there could be TWO people in Townsville who can read and write, let alone use computers. That's amazing!

Groups can be quite useful, but I've never really grasped the concept of self-help groups!

But I am still an old VFL girl from way back!

Ok on a serious note, I was searching the 'internets' as you do, and found a Townsville based LUG...trouble is there hasn't been much action on both the site or in general and was wondering if anyone out there in ubuntu land knows anything about a Townsville based LUG?

I have a thing for encouraging people to try gaming on Linux both native and Wine based gaming.

I cannot believe more Aussies don't talk in here given the amount of people who like to talk in the Aussie based geek forums (and use and talk about Ubuntu there!)

So..yeah..bump!
