I'm looking to upgrade my mobo and processor and I have come to the conclusions that I do not know what I'm looking for in terms of mobos...there's just too many choices/variables. Here's what I want/need:

-Support for an AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor
-nVidia graphics onboard (not ATI)
-micro ATX form factor
-preferably a higher FSB (2600/5200 as opposed to 1000/2000)
-onboard 1394 would be nice but not necessary

I think that's all the basic requirements. I'm not a big gamer or anything but I do like having nice graphics, and mostly my deal is I have a widescreen monitor so I need something with good onboard graphics so I can get the 1680x1050 resolution I need. I'm not doing SATA or RAID or anything yet, just regular IDE, but having those options for the future is not a bad thing. I would also prefer more than one PCI slot, but I'll take what I can get. I haven't researched the finite differences between DDR 800 and DDR 1600 memory, but I'm assuming 1600 is somewhat better; again, I'll take what I can get. Mostly I just recognize that the FSB is what makes things happen in terms of actually getting the speed you're supposed to get. I'm going to get the Athlon 64 X2 2.7Ghz processor so I do want to make that count. I will probably put in at least 2GB of memory too. I just hope someone here can maybe save me from myself, I've been shopping newegg all afternoon and I'm sort of running out of choices and getting lost/burned out on comparisons...

Thanks,
Dan

new egg advanced search lets you narrow it down by your specs, these two meet your requirements:

but of course only the first one is in stock
