Greetings all!

Let me begin by saying I'm very new to Ubuntu. I've been working in the Windows environment since 99. Recently I setup a diskless folding farm on my network. It was super easy and a lot of fun. I'm currently running Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server Edition
Setup Diskless folding via: http://reilly.homeip.net/folding/linux.html
Setup folding on Ubuntu box via: http://ubuntu-tutorials.com/2007/05/23/folding-home-installation-configuration-automation-ubuntu-debian-rhel-fc/

My question is how can I ensure that this box is secure as possible? I know there is little to no threat with running the folding program, but I'm concerned about any back doors that may exist in the default of Ubuntu. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!
