I use links2 a lot, whenever my X or Gnome is broken when testing something, to look for info on what's wrong. It's quicker than switching to the VESA driver / recovery mode / failsafe Gnome.

w3m is in the base system and it is lynx with more support for non-american charactersets built-in.

It doesn't mention it in the article, but if you search Slashdot you might find an alternative take on the story.

IIRC, the man was arrested because someone noticed odd server log entries originating from his IP. It turned out he was just using "links" to browse the site, but the site admin was stupid enough to think this was a hacking attempt.

life is scary around here!

oh, and, any other favorite browsers? I got the lynx and looks nice, but now I'm scared to use it ehueheu. I took a look at links2, but I am more like looking into non-X-only browsers... don't ask why, i really don't know why.

I'll take a further look at w3m and Elinks...

[EDIT] okay, so far elinks looks nicer while both fail with yahoo mail.
