Hi All,
New to linux/Ubuntu, installed 7.10 with apache2, php5 and mysql and after a number of trials and tribulations got it all working. Upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 and get "The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost" when using browser, although MySQL still works fine. I have amended the apache2 config file to ensure that Servername localhost is in place and that the virtual host displays localhost. Restarting apache2 I get the following message "httpd (no pid file) not running". In a nutshell I am unable to run html or php through the local server, any help of suggestions gratefully received.
