Hi,

There is this device that will allow the monitor to be used as a TV. This way, I can hook up my DVD player to it. (Yes, I know a computer can play DVD too, but this is not the point.)

No, I am not talking about a device or video in card that feeds the video from the TV/DVD player into my computer and display it on the monitor.

The device is used externally; does not require me to even turn on my computer.

I need to know what this device is called.

Thanks.

youre better off doing a google for the adapters you want to convert (e.g. RCA to VGA or SVIDEO to dvi), the fairly standard one though is video to vga (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aunofficial&hs=LM5&q=video+to+vga&btnG=Search), it does alot of connections depending on which one you buy
