Does anybody know if Canonical is taking action in improving hibernate/suspend? Well, I suppose they are, but is there a timetable?

It was the number 1 wish, in the Ubuntu brainstorm. And I think it's the last real obstacle to mass acceptance of Ubuntu.

Greeting, Pjotr.

its hard to 'work on it' as a whole cause there are so many chipsets and drivers and things that can go wrong.

but it does work on my computer and my laptop now....so its getting better

You have a very impressive sample set behind your assumption: the combination one computer with one release of one distribution :)

Anyway, everybody hates us; that's why power management doesn't work. mjg59 (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=34966) tells you how and why:
