Why do java apps look so crappy in KDE? I guess font tastes are subjective, but I find the KDE one terrible and hard on the eyes.
KDE:

Font settings? Antialiasing, subpixel rendering, default fonts? Those fonts in your KDE pic look bitmapped to me.

Font AA and SPH are on in KDE.
What are bitmapped fonts?

But still it seems in Gnome it is not native font like in other GTK apps. I'm wondering if it is an issue with JDK/Swing? And if there is a way to make Netbeans' font rendering look as good as OpenOffice/Eclipse ...
