My desktop icons do what they want, any idea?

The only icons I have on my desktop are the shortcuts to access my external hard drives. Every time I log on they are out of order and messy. Any idea how I can stop this? I didn't have this issue with Gutsy.

You can get rid of them with gconf-editor.

The relevent keys are in /apps/nautilus/desktop.

I don't really want to get rid of them since I do access them often, how about a way to keep the nice and neat after a reboot?
