Hi, i posted a few days ago that I couldn't install Ubuntu on a new Samsung Q45. Tried to use alternate CD and it installed right up to the first boot. Then nothing.
Discovered it has an eisa partition which I've read modifies the active partion. I.E the poxy windows install. It's preventing any non Win install. How do I get round this? I'm determined to sort this as I want to eventually install the Enterprise Linux which is necessary alas but need to play with Hardy first.

Are you sure the EISA partition is the problem? What happened when you tried to boot? Did you get any error messages? Did the grub menu appear? The EISA partition should not be active unless Windows is running. Are you running Ubuntu from within Windows?
