what better ways there are to collaborate on Ubuntu?

Hello, I have been reading the Ubuntu documentation to learn how to help in Ubuntu.
I have been trying various things but to no avail.

Someone may say the best way there now to help? I'd like to contribute a free software project

I tried to create new packages, upgrade packages, looking at how to help with the documentation but that is all I'm bored and I don't know if enough aid to the community.
I'm looking for something fun and that can help quite as assist in the programming, although having to learn new programming languages.

If you are a developer and are looking for a new Linux application, think about what you needs from a PC. Most "great" apps have developed, not from a focus group, but from the need to fulfil a requirement. Once you have that, then open up your project and see if others would like to join you.

In addition, if "ALL" you do is make copies of the Ubuntu CD and distribute those amongst friends, then that is helping greatly to inform people that there is an alternative to Microsoft.

Keep in mind that open source contribution is a bureaucratic process.

I've found much better solace in writing my own applications, even though it isn't as useful as fixing bugs for a world-class application.
