failed install of 8.04 (or even 7.10, 7.04 - also failed)
Laptop with intel T5450
(laptop signed out of university library - looking for extra computing power).
install stops when trying to load boot scripts ... seems to attempt going into graphics mode (i.e. starting up GUI). Tries 3 times and then hangs (sits).
have found 1 older posting in 'Hardware and Laptops' regarding trying the alternate CD ... which I am now trying.
In the meantime - anyone familiar with problems with ubuntu installs with T5450's ?
Please advise.
