the only thing that will make Microsoft listen is money. Petitions get you nowhere with corps unless you back them up with a real financial threat.

true, at least I know that my one signing won't have a big effect, if any. But I don't keep from voicing my opinion or supporting my belief just because it will be squashed.

what i'm saying is
don't rain on my parade so fast :p

Sadly even in the remote case that they supported it, they would only support opening and would save a perverted non compliant version of opendocument that worked best in Word.

I signed it anywho~

Petitions are worthless. Your only effective tools are dollars and guns.

Petitions to Microsoft are useless. They aren't accountable to you, unless you're a shareholder.

In a democratic society, theoretically, your GOVERNMENT may be accountable to you; why don't you spend your time petitioning elected officials to pass and enforce rules mandating OpenDocument? A million names on an online petition means nothing to Microsoft, but a thousand voters will strike terror into the heart of a mayor or city councilman.

Is it (http://developers.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/10/28/126230) some good news or what?
