Im trying to switch over to kde, but my firefox looks ugly! How can I fix the default ugly gtk theme in kde?

Firefox's appearance is kind of hard to integrate with either GTK or Qt, though it's getting better as of Ff3.

In kcontrol, under appearances, there is a setting that allows you to tell GTK+ applications to use the appearance settings of KDE. Not everything will look exactly right, especially with icons.

The better option is to find a Firefox skin that you like better than the default one. There is one that blends with the Crystalclear KDE artwork, but that's not everyone's favorite look for KDE.

best way to do it is to find a good theme for firefox. There should be some good ones under OS integration on mozilla's website.

as an aside, is anyone working on an oxygen themed firefox for kde4 integration?

is what I'm using at the moment. It's not perfect, but better than the default.

The GTK resource file in kubuntu-default-settings has some special rules for Firefox (as far as I'm aware). Firefox doesn't look too shabby with it, though it's certainly not a seamless match with other KDE apps.
