I'm sorry if this is a wicked newbish question but I just started in on linux. I just installed Kubuntu on my laptop and I wanted to see what the edubuntu OS was like for my daughter but I do not know how to install it from the cd or if it is even possible. If I need to use a certain version like say Ubuntu then I will start over with that. thanks in advance and any advice is welcome.

Download from here:

Burn the iso to disk as an image:

You can install on top of the old one. During the installation, choose 'Manual' and pick the old partitions. You can ignore /swap

already have Edubuntu on cd, and Kubuntu installed on laptop. the thing is that when I put the cd in the drive on the laptop I dont get an install option. when I restart I dont get a boot from cd menu like when I was using windows. I am not familiar at all with how things work in Kubuntu either.

Did you make CD first in boot order in BIOS? Or maybe you don't have a bootable CD.

Yep CD is first in boot order...CD should be bootable, I created all of them at the same time so I wouldn't forget about that part. I will go back and double check both of those, while I am doing this is there anything else that I need to know about installing one version of ubuntu over another?
