Hi and welcome, you will have to upgrade to Gutsy then to Hardy from Feisty. You may choose to do a clean install

Hi and I am not familiar with ultimate but I am sure by just adding the repos it will not install the the apps. So you may search in synaptic manager for like ultimate or ultimate edition then you can install. You may also updating in the terminal
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Pardon any misunderstanding I may have, but you are seeking to upgrade to the latest edition of Ubuntu Ultimate, which is 1.8 as I understand it. The link below is to the Ultimate edition website information page for the newest edition. From my reading, it would appear that you really need to download the DVD iso from there and install it on your computer, rather than doing a general Ubuntu install and attempting to upgrade through the repositories. Hope this is of some assistance to you.
