I just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 from 7.10 today. I had several shortcuts on my Desktop for connecting to Windows servers - unfortunately, they had all disappeared after the upgrade.
I created the shortcuts again with Places-Connect to server (by the way there are problems during the creation; see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/235551) and was able to connect. However, when I login again, the icons have disappeared again from my Desktop and I have to create them all over again.
Any clues?
