I am trying to enable xdmcp via gdmsetup on ubuntu 8.04 and have followed the how-to found on google and I have made sure that I have no firewall enabled, but i am unable to see any xdmcp broadcast from my system, does anyone have similar problems or workarounds for this ?

Hello,

I have the same problem. Trying to setup xdmcp under ubuntu-8.04-Desktop-amd64 edition, so that a login from gdm on another ubuntu machine is possible, wasn't sucessfull. I used the "System"->"Administration" ->"Anmeldefenster" (login window setup) to allow and configure xdmcp. But it doesn't work. Under another older ubuntu version the same settings in the configuration dialog sets up the xdmcp correctly. So I'm sure that I have done the right settings. Are there any experiences in setting up xdmcp under ubuntu 8.04-desktop-amd64?
