Sorry I didn't put this in my KDE 3 or KDE 4? thread, I can't seem to post there. Every time I go to that topic I see that I'm not logged in. Every time I try to log in it acts like I do but once I return to the forum I find that I am not logged in. I can log in just fine every where else it seems. Anyway, I decided to remove the Kubuntu desktop (I installed using apt-get, I didn't know about aptitude at the time). I tried to remove it using some code it some threads on this forum but it will not go away.

So you have kubuntu installed on top of the hardy setup is this correct.

It seems so

It seems so

Okay I am trying to find the website that gives that same list, or one like it. Also if you know what day or at least close there is a history in synaptic that will show installs, I think even if installed from the terminal, how did you install.

I installed it this morning, I'll see if I can find it in Synaptic.

EDIT: It doesn't seem to be in there. The only thing I see in history is May 2008.

It isn't from any of my Pure Gnome pages (http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/puregnome)

One quick question, what is the command to restore my splash page to the normal Ubuntu one? I switched it to Kubuntu's by mistake when I installed it.

aysiu has the right information, but I was looking at your old posts, and am wondering if you installed with the desktop cd that you were using.

No I didn't install with the CD. And also, good news and bad news. The good news is that Kubuntu and all of it's programs are gone. Thanks for your help aysiu. However now when I try to get into add/remove programs I get the message

This is a major failure of your software management system. Please check for broken packages with synaptic, check the file permissions and correctness of the file '/etc/apt/sources.list' and reload the software information with: 'sudo apt-get update' and 'sudo apt-get install -f'.

When I use the command "Sudo apt-get update" I get

EDIT: Nevermind, I fixed it. I had given up hope of trying to figure it out myself so I ignored the problem. I decided to pay a visit to the Update Manager and after I was done updating my software I tried to get back into add/remove applications on a hunch and viola, no problems anymore.
