I am looking to keep a summer journal this year and I am looking for a linux distro that meets the following requirements.
- FAST BOOT
- Private, meaning no need for internet connection AT ALL.
- Journaling software that will support images, and with a file format which I can edit in Windows if there is one already on.
- Support for a USB card reader to get pictures (works by default in Ubuntu Hardy)
- Support for USB thumb drive to save on, and perhaps to boot off of*.
Any recommendations?

*What date do you is the barrier date between computers that can boot from a USB and those that can't?
