Can I totally wipe a hard drive from a Ubuntu 7.10 Live CD? If so, how? I want to remove EVERYTHING inclusing GRUb and start afresh.
Any ideas?

When you install, choose "use the whole hard drive" (or something close).

Yup. Just format the whole drive and slice it up how you want during the install process.

Use Gparted live CD (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php)

use www.killdisk.com
This is assuming that you have NOTHING on the drive you need to keep.
