New to Ubuntu, gotta say i love it. I tries all 3 ubuntu, kubuntu and xbuntu, Ubuntu gives me what I need. However I loved the beautiful black window borders in xbuntu. I've been over at gnomelooks and can anyone tell me, does Ubuntu come with GTK 1 or GTK 2? Is this the easiest way to install themes? Anyone know how i can get that elegent window borders look that Xubuntu has? Any other thoughts u wanted to tell me about getting the best eye candy....i'm all ears.

thx

Ubuntu uses GTK 2.

Yes, I would say that this is the easiest way to install themes. You simply download a theme file from art.gnome.org (or gnome-look.org) and save it to your desktop. With the appearance app open on the Theme tab, click "Install" on the bottom right section of that window. The changes should take effect immidiately. Then with that theme selected, you can click "Customize" to tweak the settings. If you get everything exactly how you want, click "Save As" so that you can always revert to it in the future.
