If you have really been hacked, you should re-format and reinstall because you can't trust any of the system any more.

However, sys-sent means the computer has sent a connect request to the remote IP address but has not received a response - neither a refusal or an acceptance. It is normally a sign of a network problem rather than a problem on your PC.

hi.
thanks for the response.
i know i have to reformat and i wanna try see what backtrack can do for me.
i have some whois outputs that i have searched for on the net.
there is as one of the first hits a site where one of these was blacklisted
anhother site was a hacker site about phising and online banking but the
actions i have taken is to report this via my internet provider and give them all the outputs from this whois thingy.
then they will have to deal whit it i figure.
i am quit amazed of how much information you can get from typing
netstat and whois int a terminal.
i think i will reformat and reinstall tommorow since i have found some strange things i dont understand using the backtrack live cd.
just to be sure.
i have really to start reading about this whole internet thing
one of these days.
thank you for the response.

i talked whit my internet provider and they have had an issue whit their network so from the tech stuff they told me i was not hacked .
the internet providers cables was being replaced in parts of the city and something was messed up . prebely why i got connected tt lots of random ip adresses.
nervermind.
ubuntu is quite safe it seems.:)
thanks for the responses .
