[SOLVED] How slow does my site load for you?

Hi,

Recently my site has been loading very slowly. Could some of you please visit hex1a4.net (http://hex1a4.net/), browse a few pages and let me know how slow it loads for you?

I raised a support ticket with my host's tech support and would like to add a link to this thread to show them the site doesn't load slowly just for me.

It took 44 seconds to fully load the first page for me, and 20 seconds before anything actually appeared on screen. Now, considering that I have read statistics stating that the average internet user will wait 8 seconds before leaving if no content shows up that's a little slow.
Interestingly enough, the wallpapers section is loading very fast.

First link from here took 10 secs to get past white screen, then a further 5 to load completely.

Most of the links loaded in about 8secs apart from http://hex1a4.net/pcb/ which took 25 secs.

Xubuntu however (and I thought it was supposed to be quicker :) ) took 45 secs to load completely

I clicked the link, got sick of waiting, closed the new tab that it created. I'm on a 1.5 Meg connection here, waited at least a min before giving up.

Loads much quicker in lynx (text based web browser). Probably some kind of image problem???

It took a full minute for the site to come up, but navigation within the site was quick for me; no more than 5 seconds for any page.

Yep, slow loading (and I'm in S.W Ontario too)

I like the "Peel Cops are Scum" section too, as a Criminology student in my final year I can say that I've heard quite a few cases of Toronto cops breaking the law. I actually watched a show about it lastnight (W-5 on CBC)

If a site doesn't load, or starts displaying content after 10 seconds, I navigate away.

That's what I did with yours too.

Thank you all for taking the time to check the site. The tech support already replied telling me it's an issue on my computer or with my ISP. Using this thread I can show it's definately their problem and they better fix it fast. I need the site to be lightning fast, especially since I'm hosting a Xubuntu and OpenOffice mirror.

For those of you who used Wget, you got a 403 error because I don't allow Wget or other downloaders, except for the mirrors.
