View Full Version : [ubuntu] Is Hardy right for old PC?

I'm currently on a PC that's running Dapper. It's an IBM NetVista, celeron 566, maxed out at 512MB of RAM. It runs pretty well if you're not doing anything too intense, and you're not in a big hurry.

I was thinking of installing Hardy, partly to see if I could get the mic on my logitech USB headset to work.

Is Hardy more demanding of resources? Will my PC run slower with Hardy than Dapper?

If so, I'll bag it I guess.

Thanks,

Hoosemon

Hardy may use a bit more resources(mostly in the field of RAM), but it just might work properly on your particular specifications. I suggest you give the Hardy Live CD a try and see if it works out ok.
