gmail up down scrolling interminably slow

hi i just installed 8.04 lts. Scrolling up or down my gmail account on firefox is slow as heck, as well as most websites with lots of text.

i am using a geforce mx4400 se video card and have used envy to use the proper drivers but its still slow. In comparison my previous windows installation was pretty speedy.

is there any sort of acceleration issue I can tweak or fix? I'd even switch to a different ubuntu flavor if necessary. Many thanks in advance.

I've been having the same issue, finally got onto the forums to cry for help!

I don't notice it much in other sites tho. I just tried it out and most scroll fine, although facebook was a tad laggy.

I have a mobility radeon 7500 and the scroll was also fine on my previous windows install

fixed the issue by updating my nvidia drivers as per instructions on this site:
