thanks to the really helpul guys here i managed to download the driver for my webcam.

then i installed camorama,
but in camorama the image is split into three parts and and it is always black and white even when i change color to maximum
picture quality was poor

then i installed cheese,

here picture was in color and it was ok,but the picture quality is dreadful,

any tips on how i can i improve the picture quality in cheese or solve the problems i face in camorama?

if the image quality of your webcam was better in windows, and it only degraded when you used it in ubuntu , then probably the driver may need some fixing yet, very little can be done about this, if one actually knows how to improve the linux driver/module itself. to improve the image somehow, is to have a well lighted area where your webcam is being pointed to.
