Hi all im new to linux and was hoping someone could help me out, i have a custom built quad core system with vista installed. My main drive is a sata 200gb and then i have a pci ide controller with two extra 200gb ids hdds. On that controller i also have a 40gb ide drive that i added to install linux on. When i boot from the linux cd and try to install it fails then i try to partition the 40gb, it recognizes all 4 hdds but when i try to install the os on the 40gb it sata can not create swap partition on the hard drive. I know the hard drive is good because i just used it, i also tried doing this in the same manner with a different hard drive, a 20gb ide and i got the same error, if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated thx
