Will 804.1 be a dist-upgrade through update manager or just a regular security/proposed update?

Sorry if I posted in the wrong section, but since I thought it dealt with an upgrade/update I posted it here..feel free to move it

It will be a normal update.

Edit:- I am not sure if there will be an update anyway since 8.04.1 is really just a CD remake.

Yes, consisting of the up-to-date packages.

Have you ever been a packager?

Umm, the entire point of Ubuntu is to have good repos so I don't have to package stuff. If I thought that was a decent option, I'd be using Slackware or Fedora.

Ubuntu isn't all about good repos FYI, but it has good and well maintained repos. The reason Firefox RC2 may not have hit the repos may be quite simple; there weren't any updates that concerned Linux(this is true even with Firefox 2).

Edit:- Oh and by the way, I don't know if this is a problem with my end, but in Fedora 9 I am still stuck in Fx 3 Beta 5, and Ubuntu already has Firefox RC 1.

I was thinking of this today. If I installed ubuntu today, I'm faced with a ton of updates, correct? When 804.1 comes out, are all the updates included in the iso?

For example, Windows XP, has SP1,2 and now 3. They include all the updates up to that point.

Does ubuntu work in a similar fashion?

Thanks.

As I recall, that's how it worked with 606 to 6.06.1. And, since I'd been updating regularly and totally, one fine morning my system denomination changed from 6.06 to 6.06.1, without doing anything else on my part. :-)
