I really want to purchase an MSI Wind (http://www.trustedreviews.com/notebooks/review/2008/06/01/First-Look-MSI-Wind/p1). And I want to run ubuntu on it.

There are intended to be MSI Wind (I really want to purchase an two editions of the machine released - Windows and Linux. The Linux edition will come with SUSE Linux. However, I will want to run ubuntu.

The Windows XP edition of the machine is due to be released first, on June 16th 2008. There is no set date for the Linux version yet, but it will be some time in the future. And I don't want to wait!

So forgive me if this is a badly flawed idea... but would it be possible to just take the XP configured laptop, then reformat it, and then install a ubuntu on it?

I look forward to your responses. Thanks!

Chances are Ubuntu will work okay, if another Linux is supported.
