Is there such a thing as a linux client for Microsoft Server Volume Shadow Copies? It's that previous versions thing you see when you right click on a file that resides on a Windows Server that supports volume shadow copies.

I know you can do things the other way around ... ie: you can run a linux server and provide the volume shadow copy service to a Windows client, but can I do the reverse, have a Windows Server running providing the volume shadow service, and on a linux machine that's connected to one of the samba shares on the server, right click on a file and have access to it's previous versions?

Thanks,
Harry

Hi Harry,

I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your question but how exactly did you go about providing volume shadow service from a linux server to windows clients?

Thanks
