I am experimenting with the dd hard disk copy command , and have managed to copy a 10 gig drive on to a 40 gig drive , but that now shows up as only a 10 gig drive , is there anyway round this , and how can I access the empty space ?

You'll need to resize the partition so it used the entire disk, use Gnome Partition Editor and you'll be able to see graphically that the 10gig partition you copied is sat at the 'start' of 40gig of disk space.

Thanks for that.
