I am attempting to install the alternate CD (so I may get LVM from the get go) and everything runs along fine, until I get about 73% of the way through the install where I get:

--
'Ubuntu 8.04 _Hardy Heron_ - Release i386 (20080422.2)'
in the drive '/cdrom/' and press enter
--

Of course the CD is already in there as that is what has been performing the install, when I hit 'Continue' it just says the error message again.

I did install on this same machine with the main 8.04 CD, with no problems. Also, did a media check on the alternate CD which worked just fine.

Is the alternate CD for x86 for 8.04 just not working? Ideas?

Did you do md5sum? Did you burn at 4x or less on good quality CD-R?

I had burned on a Gateway, but based on the above burned a second one on a Mac SuperDrive @ 8x (lowest it would go) and now it works fine. Thanks!

I thought the media check would have found those, I stand corrected.
