I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to start looking into carpooling to OLF...Saving gas and the like is always a good thing!!

My wife and I will be going, but like in the past, we will make the weekend of it. I'm not sure if we are going up Thursday or Friday, but we will be staying until Sunday. And we probably won't be staying at one of the official hotels. Last year we saved over 50% per night by staying in a motel 15 miles away.
Getting up really early on Saturday, driving three to four hours, attending the 12-hour or so event, and then driving three to four hours back home isn't in my makeup.

Also, if anyone is interested in attending the Ohio LinuxFest University (classes on Oct. 10), those have also been announced.

I'll be going out on Thursday night, attending OLFU on Friday (Time Management for System Administrators and LPI Cram, methinks), the conference proper on Saturday and coming home on Sunday.
If experience is any indicator, it's going to be AWESOME! :-D

That sounds like what my wife and I are doing, except we aren't going to OLFU. We'll find something else to do on Friday.

I think my wife had more fun the year before when they had the live penguins there. But she didn't feel like she was the only female there last year, and she understood a bit more last year since she is using Linux more.

I wont be attending this year, I have made prior obligations with the wife. Last year was a hoot, if anyone can attend I'd strongly recommend it!
