I have two separate hard drives on one desktop, one with winxp (ntfs formatted) and the other freshly installed gutsy (ext3,etc). I use grub, no issues here. There is no problem with booting into linux. With windows, I get a blue screen "unmountable boot volume." I googled this, ran chkdsk /r and an hour later I the problem was gone.

After a couple of boots it recurred but the same fix worked. Does anyone know how to make this problem disappear permanently?

Could this have anything to do with mounting an ntfs partition in ubuntu?

ThankS
