Hi,
I want to install ubuntu 8.04 on a new dell inspiron 530 which came with windows vista preinstalled. Vista is sitting on a total 320 GB disk space. I opened vista disk mgmt and tried to create a new partition for ubuntu. It allowed me to make only a 32 GB partition. I know that it is sufficient for ubuntu installation. However, I wanna create a bigger partition for ubuntu. Does anyone know how to do it? I will appreciate if anyone could provide some information on this regard.

Thanks,
Santanu

you can use a livecd that has gparted on it and do whatever you want with your partitions. I use INSERT

I formated the SATA HDD, then installed the Ubuntu 64 bit OS.
Stable, very responsive too.
N.B. I was happy with Vista Home Basic, but did not want a dual boot machine.
