I'm working with our church to produce an intranet and VERY basic ERP system, and I'm having trouble convincing them not to use Microsoft Access to store all of their donors' information. I'd like to set them up with a small dedicated server running an Ubuntu-based LAMP stack, but I don't have the hardware.
I was wondering if anyone had any old hardware laying around (motherboard, CPU, RAM, etc) with which I could build a proof of concept. I'm thinking of using a 4GB CF card and an IDE-CF adapter for the hard drive. They don't need more space than that, and it would run a lot faster than a 5400 IDE drive...
If you can offer any help, please e-mail me at mark@markandheidicahill.com
Thanks in advance!
