Which one? iphone(no contract) or ipod touch?

Hi all,

i'm graduating soon, 2 exams left and my dad is going to buy me an ipod touch but i was thinking that for a similar price i could get an iphone. Buy the iphone and then not sign the contract and jail break it.

With the iphone being jailbroken, i void my warrant by not signing up, am i right?

if i have an iphone i get:

-camera
-bluetooth
-mic + speakers = VoIP + Phone
-mains adapter
-3G, just get myself a as you go 3 sim card


if i get an ipod touch i get

-warranty
-app store (i'm guessing this wouldn't work with a jailbreak iphone)
-if i keep my warranty then i have to jailbreak it to use it in linux, unless new apps let you sync with linux


i was going to wipe windows off my computer after my exams, but now the lure of the iphone/ipod touch is too strong and i need to keep windows for jail breaking and itunes!

WHAT SHOULD I DO? iphone or ipod touch!!!!!!!

The iPhone will have built in 3G in like two weeks.
It depends what you're looking for though. If you want a Smartphone, just get the iPhone.
If you want a MID or PDA, go for the iPod Touch.
