Hi everybody.
I erased by accident my Desktop in typing:
rm -r /home/martin/Desktop reaktor_5_keygen.exe

Starting Ubuntu (hardy) I get all the folders and files what I usely have in my "Home Folder" on the Desktop. Somehow I erased the Desktop Folder, at least I can't find the folder anymore.
I tried to reinstall GNOME with: sudo apt-get install gnome but this don't change anything.
Help needed Thks

What happens when you create a folder named Desktop in your home directory?

Hm, I can create a folder named Desktop, no problem. If I open the menue -Places -Home Folder - I see my new created Desktop folder there also. Somehow if I start GNOME I land in my home folder. In other words: If I start GNOME from the startscreen I see all folders from the Home folder on my Desktop.
