Salutations, I figured the Community Chat would be the best place to post this.
I'm getting some work soon, which means I'll have some spending money after college expenses. One thing I've been wanting for a while is a good replacement for my television.
My room doesn't have much... room, and I figured my best choices would be either a flatscreen or a projector. After pondering it for a while, I'm pretty much sold on the idea of having a projector.
I'd like a projector that can support output from my PC (my 6800 has TV-Out), cable TV, and my game consoles if possible. I don't care much about resolution, 1024x768 would be great if possible (that's what I run my PC at), but if I can't get a reasonably-priced projector with that resolution, that's fine.
I'm pretty confused about the specs for projectors. I know what many of the words MEAN, but I'm not sure what they mean in context and comparison. I'm hoping someone who is tech-savvy in this regard can help recommend to me a reasonable-priced (less than $1000 if at all possible) projector that can handle PC, cable, and consoles (GameCube, Xbox, and the like), and a 1024x768 res for my PC would be fantastic! (Probably unrealistic, but one can dream.)
[By the way, I can wait a few months if something like that is expected to be coming out soon.]
