As in make it not work, or as in screw it up (to the motherboard in a secure manner)

they guy's heatsink did not fit do to the wrong form factor, so he "Improvise". The guy literally put screws through the mobo instead of the through the holes provided. This cut and mangled connection and data pathways through these areas causing the mobo not to work (M/Bs can be up to 3 or even 6 layers thick depending on the design and usage). Even one data pathway destroyed or restricted can cause a m/b not to work right or not at all. Look at the pic with the screw points out the bottom of the m/b.
