Acer 24" Monitor

Hello, I just got a new Acer 24" monitor. It has HDMI/DVI, I can't figure out why it is not showing the entire gui screen. It is set at 1920X1200, and it does the same on Vista. When in HDMi watching TV it is center, but it is not showing all the screen when in Ubuntu or Vista using DVI. Should it be at 60mhz? It only lets me set it at 50mhz.
