The install for ubuntu server 8.04 seemed to go ok in virtual PC 2007 until i tried to boot for the first time.

I've attached a screenshot.

I've run the previous version in virtual PC without issues.

Any ideas?

I have the exact same issue, however I use Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2, the "noreplace-paravirt" parameter does nothing when booting. The only reason I'm upgrading is because support for Edgy (6.10) just vanished without a trace.
