I changed the number of workspaces from 1 row, two columns to 3 rows, 7 columns and started spinning the mouse wheel wildly. That was the most fun I've had in so long.

screen (or, gnu screen) allows you to have different workspaces in your terminal. it's not just tabs because you can come back later and open up the same session. for those of us who are always wm hopping, it's a great way to keep music, downloads, clocks, etc. going while changing gears.

Only when I have to. I use it mainly for installing the drivers for my Lexmark printer.

well, if you ever do get to using it much, remember screen. you might also like taking a look at tiling window managers, as well. after using a tiling wm with different workspaces and screen on top of that, i can't begin to imagine how people can use just one space.

Just wait until you see Compiz-Fusion 0.7.6. You'll have a LOT of fun with the sphere and cylinder.

Just wait until you see Compiz-Fusion 5.1.2. You'll have LOT of fun with the tessaract and the four dimensional regular polychoron.
