So I partitioned my HDD in using the GParted Live Cd. Then I booted using the Gusty Live Cd and when I got to the desktop clicked install. I went through all the settings until I got to the partitioning section. There I set my two ext3 partitions as / and /home, and then a swap partition. I finished out and clicked install, there it sat for twenty minutes at 15% saying "Detecting file systems". I clicked the little "X" in the corner and nothing happened for another 5 minutes, then I rebooted back into windows. Is this a common issue? I've checked my media and I have 1.2Gb of RAM with a 2.4Ghz processor. I've installed linux before without this problem. What's up? Any suggestions?

Possibilities:
1. It was installing, and you didn't wait for long enough.
2. You have a bad CD burn.

I'd also suggest you use 8.04 / Hardy if you want to install Ubuntu.
