i m really new to ubuntu i been using it for only 3 weeks.i was just wondering if anybody can help me out,in windows i use limewire to download music and videos but in ubuntu it seems like its not possible to install limewire.can somebody tell me how to install or tell me another program that i can use to download things from...thanks u guys

In 8.04, there is a very good torrent downloader: Transmission.

download it and run it

can u download things from here like limewire or does it work differnt

download limewire from
www.linux.softpedia.com

then run the package (it's debian package) and install it.
once finished go to
applications>internet>limewire.
i'm using limewire now, it woks like a charm

hey guys i have a problem..i was downloading limewire and then when i try to install the package it just got to like 30% then it just freeze so i restarted the computer and try to download it but its saying i cant stop it first because its still running..can anybody give me an advice step by step thank you

A very good equivalent of limewire for linux is frostwire
You may download it from www.frostwire.com and then double click on it to install.

You will find yourself in a familiar atmosphere on the likes of limewire

Yes, use Frostwire (requires Java) instead, or GTK-Gnutella for a lighter alternative.
