Strange problem

I have a strange problem when i try to install "Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Desktop Edition". Its starts "Loading Linux Kernal", then i get the error "Error reading boot CD"

Ive tested the CD on other PCs & the CD works fine, & my CD drive also works fine. So what could the problem be?:confused:

Burn a new CD after doing md5sum, at 4x or less, on CD-R. Clean your burner's lens.

Try a different brand of CD media. Some drives have preferences as to what they like/will work best. I personally, prefer CD-RW media because I can use it over & over & over again.

Also, might want to consider seeing if there is a firmware update for your CD drive.

ok i reburned it at 4x on another brand after checking the Md5sum. Sucess! It now reads the CD Thnx you both, finaly got a version of Ubuntu to work \\:D/

Now get to work on the Install
