Actually, the original Microsoft F# distribution works on mono (and is even officially supported)! So just grab it from their site.

Youre both double posting. The link I posted was for starting Microsoft F# in Mono on Linux.

Why do you want to use F# when you have Ocaml?well to answer your question you can use it on MonoDevelop

Maybe you try scala and the new eclipse plugin , its neat :D
