I have found the guide below very useful but it is for ubuntu 7.10 and below only. Does anyone know what has to be changed to get it to work for ubuntu 8.04?

Nothing I think.Just download Hardy minimal from this (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/MinimalCD) page.Install procedure should be the same.
