I'm new to Ubuntu but an experienced Solaris administrator, so I'm a little lost with the graphical installation, but I'm definitely willing to give this a shot. I have an HP desktop with an integrated video card that I am trying to install on and booting from the Live CD (latest stable) gives me exactly the interface that I expect, complete with 1366x768 on my LCD TV. When I do the installation, it decides to ignore my video card (VIA Integrated, A7V8Z-LA Mainboard) and revert me to 800x600 or 640x480. It shows no video card installed or monitor detected. Any thoughts?
